Chua Choon Seng, aged 65, woke up at 2am on 29 December 2013 and found that his 37-year-old son, Dexmon Chua Yizhi, had not returned home. At 1pm, he went to the car park at Block 429A Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 to look for Dexmon’s car. When he reached deck A3 of the car park, he found the Dexmon’s car, bearing the registration number SFX 2365L. There was no one in it and the door was not locked.
