Section 226

Unlawful return from banishment

Whoever, having been lawfully banished, or otherwise lawfully sent out of Singapore, returns to Singapore, the term for which he was banished or sent out of Singapore not having expired, and he not having received a remission of punishment, or otherwise not having lawful authority to return to Singapore, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall not exceed that for which he was banished or sent out of Singapore, and shall also be liable to fine. Explanation.— A person ordered to be banished from Singapore under the Banishment Act 1959 is liable to punishment for returning unlawfully to Singapore under this section.
