Section 51

Estates tail abolished

(1)

All words and expressions which on or before 1 August 1886 would have created or been deemed to create an estate tail shall create and be deemed to create an estate in fee simple.

(2)

This section shall apply only to instruments coming into operation on or after 1 August 1886.
