Section 57

Disposal of differences between railways regarding conduct of joint traffic

Where 2 or more railway administrations whose railways have a common terminus or a portion of the same line of railway communication are not able to agree upon arrangements for conducting at such common terminus or at the point of junction between them their joint traffic with safety to the public, the Minister, upon the application of either or of any of such administrations, may decide the matters in dispute between them, so far as those matters relate to the safety of the public, and may determine whether the whole or what proportion of the expenses attending on such arrangements shall be borne by either or any of the administrations respectively.
