Penalty for forgery of certificate, etc.
(1)
Any person who —
knowingly and wilfully makes or assists in making or procures to be made a false or fraudulent certificate or bill of health under this Part; or
forges, assists in forging, procures to be forged, fraudulently alters, assists in altering or procures to be fraudulently altered any such certificate or bill of health or anything contained in or any signature to any such certificate or bill of health,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction for each offence to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.
(2)
If any such offence is committed in relation to a bill of health, the ship shall be liable to be treated as infected.[168
