Section 211

Collisions to be entered in official log-book

(1)

In every case of collision in which it is practicable to do so, the master of every ship shall immediately after the occurrence cause a statement thereof, and of the circumstances under which the collision occurred, to be entered in the official log-book, if any, and the entry shall be signed by the master and also by the mate or one of the crew.

(2)

Any master who fails to comply with this section shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction for each offence to a fine not exceeding $400.[228
