Section 326

Power of Director and police officer to board vessels

(1)

The Director, the Port Master or any police officer may go either alone or with any other person on board any vessel within the waters of Singapore whenever he suspects that any offence under this Part has been or is about to be committed in any vessel, or whenever he considers it is necessary for him to do so in the discharge of any duty imposed upon him by this Part, or otherwise by law.

Any master of such vessel who without lawful excuse refuses to allow any such officer to so enter the vessel shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction for each offence to a fine not exceeding $2,000.[361** Sections 349 to 360 in the 1970 Edition were repealed by Act 11/73.
