Section 42

makes a false report of character under this Act, knowing the same to be false;

forges or fraudulently alters any certificate of discharge or report of character or copy of a report of character;

assists in committing or procures to be committed any such offence as aforesaid;

fraudulently uses any certificate of discharge or report of character or copy of a report of character which is forged or altered or does not belong to him; or

sells or purchases, gives away or accepts any certificate of discharge or makes use of any such certificate to which he is not entitled,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction for each offence to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.[55
