Payment of wages before Superintendent
(1)
Where a seaman is discharged before the Superintendent in Singapore, he shall receive his wages through or in the presence of the Superintendent, unless a competent court otherwise directs.
(2)
If in such a case the master or owner of a ship pays his wages within Singapore in any other manner, he shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction for each offence to a fine not exceeding $200.[58
