Section 16

Women may authorise male relatives to sign certificates, etc.

(1)

In the event of the person whose duty it is to sign any certificate or make any declaration under sections 9, 11, 14 and 15 being a woman and unable through illness or other cause to sign the certificate or make the declaration, she may authorise any male relative to sign or make it on her behalf.

(2)

Such male relative shall make or sign an entry on the certificate or declaration that he is so authorised.
