Powers of Juvenile Court conferred on Supreme Court; special power in respect of persons of 16 years and under 19 years
Nothing in this Act shall affect the powers of the Supreme Court and all the powers which may be exercised under this Act by a Juvenile Court in respect of a child or young person may in like manner be exercised by the Supreme Court; and, in addition, the Supreme Court shall have power to order the detention in a Young Offenders Section, up to but not after his attainment of the age of 19 years, of any person who has attained the age of 16 years but has not attained the age of 19 years at the date of making the order.
