Discharge by superintendent or psychiatrist

(1)
Subject to the provisions of any other written law, the medical superintendent or a psychiatrist may by writing under his hand order the discharge of any patient.
(2)
The power to order a discharge of a patient conferred upon the medical superintendent or psychiatrist by this section shall also apply to a patient committed to the hospital under section 25.
