Constitution of Medical Council
(1)
The Medical Council shall consist of —
the Director of Medical Services;
one medical officer in the public service to be appointed by the President;
two registered medical practitioners to be appointed by the President on the nomination of the Council of the National University of Singapore;
six registered medical practitioners resident in Singapore to be elected by the registered medical practitioners of Singapore; and
three registered medical practitioners resident in Singapore to be appointed by the Minister.
(2)
The members referred to in subsection (1)(b), (c), (d) and (e) shall hold office for a period of 3 years but at the end of that period they may again be appointed to be members of the Medical Council.
(3)
The election of the members referred to in subsection (1)(d) shall be conducted in such manner as the President may prescribe.
(4)
The Medical Council may appoint a secretary.
