Section 3

Hotels Licensing Board

(1)

There shall be established a Hotels Licensing Board consisting of a chairman and 4 other members, to be appointed by the Minister.

(2)

The chairman and every member of the Board shall hold office for a period of 3 years from the date of appointment.

(3)

The Minister may, at any time, revoke any such appointment.

(4)

If any vacancy occurs by death, resignation or otherwise, a new chairman or member, as the case may be, shall be appointed by the Minister in accordance with subsection (1).

(5)

Any person appointed to fill a casual vacancy under subsection (4) shall hold office so long only as the person in whose place he is appointed would have held office.

(6)

The powers of the Board may be exercised notwithstanding any vacancy in their number.

(7)

The quorum of the Board shall be 3.

(8)

The Board may appoint any member of the Board to be the vice‑chairman of the Board and, in the absence of the chairman, the vice‑chairman shall preside at meetings of the Board.
