Enlargement of powers of Magistrate’s Court
When under section 9 an offence is triable by a District Court but not by a Magistrate’s Court the Public Prosecutor may, nevertheless, if he considers it desirable, by writing under his hand, authorise a Magistrate’s Court in any particular case to try the offence, but that authorisation shall not enlarge the powers conferred on the Magistrate’s Court by section 11(5).
