Information in non-seizable cases
(1)
When the information so received or recorded under section 115 relates to a non-seizable offence the case shall thereupon be investigated or the informant shall, by order of a police officer, be referred to a Magistrate.
(2)
No police officer shall in a non-seizable case exercise any of the special powers relating to police investigations given by sections 120, 121, 125 and 126 without the order of the Public Prosecutor or a Magistrate.
(3)
Any police officer receiving such order may exercise the same powers in respect of the investigation, except the power to arrest without warrant, as that police officer may exercise without an order in a seizable case.
(4)
Any informant referred to a Magistrate shall be supplied with a copy of any report filed or recorded under section 115 on which shall be endorsed the name of the police station at which the information was received. [115
