Separate trial when accused prejudiced
Where before a trial or at any stage of a trial the court is of opinion that an accused person may be prejudiced or embarrassed in his defence by reason of being charged with and tried at one trial for more than one offence under either section 169 or 170 the court may order that he shall be charged and tried separately in respect of any one or more of the offences.
