Section 359

When any person may be required by any court or officer to execute a bond with one or more sureties, the court or officer may, except in the case of a bond for good behaviour, permit him to enter into his own bond and in addition to deposit a sum of money to such amount as the court or officer thinks fit instead of providing a surety or sureties.[358
