Section 49

Every instrument lodged for registration shall refer to the folio of the land-register intended to be dealt with and, in the case of an instrument affecting part only of the land in a folio, shall be accompanied by a plan or shall contain such description by reference to a plan in the Survey Department as will enable the land to be identified with certainty:Provided that, so far as any such instrument affects only a registered mortgage, charge or lease, it shall be sufficient if the instrument refers to the serial number of the mortgage, charge or lease.[45
