Section 61

The gazetted officers of the Special Constabulary shall be appointed, promoted or dismissed by the Minister. Inspectors and subordinate officers shall be appointed, promoted, reduced in rank or in grade or dismissed or discharged by the Commissioner or the Deputy Commissioner.

No person who has been called up for national service in the Special Constabulary shall be discharged or dismissed under subsection (1) except with the prior approval of the proper authority appointed under the provisions of any written law for the time being in force relating to national service or enlistment.
