Section 23

Prosecution or proceeding under this Act

For the purposes of any prosecution or proceeding under this Act, any order of banishment, deportation or expulsion issued under any law in force at the date of the banishment, deportation or expulsion —

(a)

in Singapore before 9 August 1965; and

(b)

in Malaysia or in any territory comprised in Malaysia,shall have effect, for the purposes of this Act, in all respects as if the order had been validly issued under the provisions of this Act.
