Section 54

Counterfoils, etc., to be prima facie evidence

In any proceedings under this Act or at the hearing of any charge for an offence under this Act, any counterfoil or counterpart of any permit, pass, certificate or other document issued under this Act or the regulations and purporting to be signed by the Controller or by an immigration officer generally or specially authorised in that behalf by the Controller may be produced in evidence without further proof and is prima facie evidence of the facts therein stated and is, unless the contrary be proved, presumed to be a true statement of the relevant contents of the permit, pass, certificate or other document to which it relates.
