Section 69

Offences in relation to Court

(1)

A person who —

(a)

creates a disturbance or takes part in creating or continuing a disturbance in or near any place in which a Court is sitting;

(b)

interrupts the proceedings of a Court;

(c)

wilfully insults or disturbs the president or a member constituting a Court when exercising powers or functions under this Act; or

(d)

by writing or speech uses words calculated —

(i)

to influence improperly the president or a member constituting a Court in the exercise of his powers and functions under this Act; or

(ii)

to bring a Court into disrepute,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction by a District Court to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.

(2)

A reference in subsection (1) to a Court or to the president shall be read as including a reference to a person authorised in accordance with section 66 to take evidence on behalf of a Court.
