No riding of personal mobility device, etc., when towed by motor vehicle
(1)
An individual must not ride a personal mobility device or drive a mobility scooter or motorised wheelchair on a road at any time while the individual riding the personal mobility device, or driving the mobility scooter or motorised wheelchair, is towed by a motor vehicle or is otherwise holding on to a motor vehicle.
(2)
An individual who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —
to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to both; and
if the individual is a repeat offender, to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
