Section 36

Interference with marriage

Any person who uses any force or threat —

(a)

to compel a person to marry against his or her will; or

(b)

to prevent a person who has attained 21 years of age from contracting a valid marriage,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $3,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
