Destroying or falsifying State Marriage Register, etc.
Any person who by himself, herself or another —
wilfully destroys or causes damage to —
the State Marriage Register;
any record or information contained in the State Marriage Register; or
any certificate of marriage;
falsely makes any thing that purports to be, or counterfeits —
the State Marriage Register;
any record or information contained in the State Marriage Register;
any certificate of marriage; or
any copy of or extract from any record or information contained in the State Marriage Register, or any copy of or extract from any certificate of marriage, that has been certified by the Registrar to be a true copy or extract; or
wilfully inserts any false entry in —
the State Marriage Register;
any record or information contained in the State Marriage Register;
any certificate of marriage; or
any copy of or extract from any record or information contained in the State Marriage Register, or any copy of or extract from any certificate of marriage, that has been certified by the Registrar to be a true copy or extract,shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000.
