Section 6C

Marriage ceremony gone through fraudulently without lawful marriage

Any person who dishonestly or fraudulently goes through the ceremony of being married, knowing that he or she is not as a result lawfully married, shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000.
