Appointment of Director-General of Public Works and other officers
(1)
The President may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint an officer to be called the Director-General of Public Works (referred to in this Part as the Director-General) also one or more officers to be called Deputy Directors-General of Public Works and one or more officers to be called Assistant Directors-General of Public Works who, subject to such limitations as may be prescribed by the Director-General, may perform all duties imposed and exercise all powers conferred on the Director-General by this Part, and every duty so performed and power exercised shall be deemed to have been duly performed and exercised for the purposes of this Part.
(2)
The Director-General may, subject to such conditions or restrictions as he thinks fit, delegate to any officer in Division I of the public service employed in the administration of this Part all or any of the powers, functions and duties vested in him by sections 18 to 21, and 35 to 37.
