Section 29

Disposal of infected animal, bird or carcase

(1)

A person must not knowingly cast or cause or permit to be cast into any drain, ditch, water channel, street or open space, or otherwise expose —

(a)

any animal or bird or the carcase of any animal or bird which is or has been infected with disease; or

(b)

any fodder, litter, dung or thing which has been used in connection with any infected animal or bird.

(2)

Any person who acts in contravention of subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
