Sale or export of wildlife
(1)
A person must not offer for sale, sell or export any wildlife (whether alive or dead), or any part of a wildlife, unless the person has the Director‑General’s written approval to do so.
(2)
A person who has the Director‑General’s written approval mentioned in subsection (1) must comply with the conditions of the approval.
(3)
A person who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —
in the case where the offence is committed in respect of a protected wildlife, to a fine not exceeding $50,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both; and
in any other case, to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
