Section 10

Cancellation of appointment

The President of Singapore may cancel the appointment of any member of the Majlis —

(a)

if his or her conduct, whether in connection with the duties of the appointment or otherwise, is in the opinion of the President of Singapore such as to bring discredit upon the Majlis;

(b)

if for any reason he or she becomes unable to carry out the duties of his or her appointment properly;

(c)

if he or she, without due cause to be approved by the President of the Majlis, absents himself or herself from 3 successive meetings of the Majlis; or

(d)

if the President of Singapore considers it desirable in the public interest to cancel the appointment.
