Unlawful register

Any person other than the Registrar, any president of the Syariah Court, a Kadi or a Naib Kadi who —

(a)

keeps any book being or purporting to be a register of Muslim marriages, divorces or revocation of divorce; or

(b)

issues to any person any document being or purporting to be a certificate of marriage, divorce or revocation of divorce,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
