Compounding of offences
(1)
The Commissioner or any public officer authorised in writing in that behalf by the Minister may compound any offence under sections 6, 7, 8, 10 and 13 or under any regulations made under this Act as may be specified in such regulations as being an offence which may be compounded by accepting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed such offence a sum of money not exceeding $500.
(2)
On payment of such sum of money, no further proceedings shall be taken against that person in respect of the offence. [25
