Section 2

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —“appointed day” means the day appointed by the Minister under section 1;“creche” means any premises where children under the age of 6 years are received, whether for reward or not, to be looked after during the whole or part of the day or night but does not include nursing homes and maternity homes as defined in the Nursing Homes and Maternity Homes Registration Act and pre‑school institutions registered with the Ministry of Education;“licence” means a licence issued under this Act;“licensee” means any person to whom a licence is issued under this Act;“Licensing Officer” means the officer appointed by the Minister under section 3 and includes an Assistant Licensing Officer.
