Section 15

Functions of Corporation

(1)

The functions of the Corporation shall be —

(a)

to manage and maintain the vocational or industrial training institutions transferred to the Corporation by this Act and such other institutions as the Corporation may establish under this Act for the employment, or vocational or industrial training of prisoners; (b)to provide or secure the provision of such employment or facilities for such training and to organise programmes therefor;

(c)

to provide technical training in skilled trades for suitable prisoners; (d)to promote the vocational skills of prisoners; (e)to require any prisoner to work pursuant to section 50 of the Prisons Act [Cap. 247]; and

(f)

to advise the Government on all matters relating to the provision of vocational or industrial training and technical training in trades for prisoners.
