Chief executive officer
(1)
The Director of Prisons shall be the chief executive officer and he may be paid such salary, fee or allowances as the Corporation may determine.
(2)
The chief executive officer shall —
be responsible to the members of the Corporation for the proper administration and management of the Corporation in accordance with the policy laid down by the Corporation; and
not be removed from office without the consent of the Minister.
(3)
If the chief executive officer is temporarily absent from Singapore or temporarily incapacitated by reason of illness or for other reasons temporarily unable to perform his duties, any person may be appointed by the Corporation to act in the place of the chief executive officer during any such period of absence from duty.
