Section 31

Vaccination and other prophylaxis

(1)

Every person on an international voyage whether leaving or arriving in Singapore must —

(a)

have undergone vaccination or other prophylaxis against all or any of the diseases in accordance with the requirements set out in the Third Schedule; and

(b)

produce valid international certificates of vaccination or other prophylaxis to a Port Health Officer.

Despite subsection (1), a Port Health Officer may require such person to undergo vaccination or other prophylaxis and may subject the person to isolation or surveillance for such period as the Port Health Officer thinks fit.

The Port Health Officer may return any person, not being a citizen of Singapore, who arrives in Singapore in contravention of subsection (1), to the person’s place of origin or embarkation at the expense of the owner or agent of the vessel by which the person arrived in Singapore.

The owner, master or agent of a vessel must ensure compliance with subsection (1) in respect of any person on board the vessel.
