Powers of Director-General, Food Administration or Port Health Officer regarding food and water
(1)
The Director-General, Food Administration or a Port Health Officer may —
take samples of any food and water intended for human consumption or for sale to a vessel;
order the owner or any person in charge of a vessel supplying food to carry out an analysis of the food and to supply the results of that analysis to the Director‑General, Food Administration or the Port Health Officer;
if he or she has reason to believe that any food intended for human consumption is liable to be contaminated or is unfit for human consumption, order the food to be destroyed; and
order the owner, master or agent of any vessel to immediately cleanse the water tanks of the vessel to his or her satisfaction.

Any person who fails to comply with an order of the Director‑General, Food Administration or the Port Health Officer under subsection (1) within the time specified in the order shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
