Section 58

The Director may, with the approval of the appropriate Minister, formulate and implement emergency measures for the control of an infectious disease in any area and those measures must be published in the Gazette before implementation.

Any person who wilfully neglects or refuses to carry out or obstructs the execution of any emergency measure formulated and implemented under subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
