Section 29

Controller of Residential Property to administer this Act

(1)

The Minister must appoint a Controller of Residential Property who has charge of the administration of this Act, subject to any general or special directions of the Minister.

(2)

The Minister may also appoint such Deputy Controllers and Assistant Controllers of Residential Property as may be necessary for the carrying out of the provisions of this Act.

(3)

Where any Deputy Controller or Assistant Controller of Residential Property is appointed, that Deputy Controller or Assistant Controller of Residential Property must carry out the provisions of this Act, subject to the general or special directions of the Controller.

(4)

The Comptroller of Property Tax appointed under the Property Tax Act 1960, the Controller of Immigration appointed under the Immigration Act 1959 and any competent authority appointed under the Planning Act 1998 must render all possible assistance and make available all necessary information to the Controller for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act.

(5)

The Controller of Residential Property, every Deputy or Assistant Controller of Residential Property and any person acting under the authority of the Controller of Residential Property shall not be personally liable to any action, suit or proceeding in respect of any act or matter done in good faith or omitted to be done in the administration of this Act.
