Section 11

Societies to be bodies corporate

(1)

A society on registration becomes a body corporate by the name under which it is registered, with perpetual succession, and with power to hold movable and immovable property, to enter into contracts, to sue and be sued and to do all things necessary for the purposes of its constitution.

A society may, but need not, have a common seal.
