Section 44

Protection from personal liability

(1)

The following individuals have and enjoy the same protection that a Magistrate has and enjoys under the State Courts Act 1970:

(a)

a tribunal magistrate;

(b)

the Registrar, when exercising the jurisdiction and powers of a tribunal.

(2)

No liability shall lie personally against an officer of a State Court or a court-appointed mediator who, acting in good faith and with reasonable care, does or omits to do anything in the execution or purported execution of this Act.
