Section 105

Protection of civil defence volunteers

(1)

For the purposes of the Government Proceedings Act 1956, any civil defence volunteer acting or purporting in good faith to be acting under any order or instruction given to the civil defence volunteer by a member of the Force whilst participating in any civil defence measures or whilst receiving instruction in civil defence is deemed to be the agent of and acting under the instructions of the Government.

(2)

No act or default done or made by the civil defence volunteer in good faith whilst participating in any civil defence measures or whilst receiving instruction in civil defence shall subject him or her to any personal liability.

(3)

For the purposes of subsection (1), “civil defence volunteer” means any person who has agreed to take part in civil defence measures or receives instruction in civil defence organised under the authority of the Commissioner.
