Appointments and promotions

(1)
Subject to section 8, the Minister may do the following:
(a)
appoint or promote a member to the rank of lieutenant‑colonel and above;
(b)
reduce the rank of a member of the rank of lieutenant‑colonel and above.

(2)
Subject to section 8, the Commissioner may do the following:
(a)
appoint or promote a member to the rank of major and below;
(b)
reduce the rank of a member of the rank of major and below.

The Commissioner may delegate the power under subsection (2) to any officer of the rank of lieutenant‑colonel and above.
