Food establishments to be licensed
(1)
A person must not operate or use or knowingly permit a food establishment to be used for any of the purposes specified in the First Schedule without first obtaining a licence from the Director‑General, Food Administration.
(2)
Upon any conviction for contravening subsection (1), the Director‑General, Food Administration may, by written order addressed to the convicted person, require that the place or premises or any part of the place or premises where the offence took place must no longer be operated or used as a food establishment as from such date as the Director‑General, Food Administration must specify in the order.
(3)
Where the convicted person fails to comply with any order under subsection (2), the Director‑General, Food Administration —
may take any steps or measures that are necessary to ensure that the order is complied with; and
is entitled to recover from that person the costs and expenses incurred by the Director‑General, Food Administration in doing so.
