Section 8

Director-General may apply systems for collection and removal of refuse, etc.

(1)

The Director-General may at any time apply to all premises within any area that he or she may determine any system which he or she thinks fit for the collection and removal of refuse and waste of every description from those premises.

(2)

In any area to which a system for the collection and removal of refuse and waste is applied under subsection (1) —

(a)

no person other than a waste collector licensee whose specified area in its licence includes premises in the area may collect or remove any refuse or waste; and

(b)

every occupier of any premises that the Director‑General may designate in the area must use the service of collecting and removing refuse or waste provided by a public waste collector licensee whose specified area in its licence includes those designated premises.
