Section 83

Director-General or Director-General, Food Administration may act in cases of emergency

(1)

In cases of emergency, the Director‑General or Director‑General, Food Administration may direct the immediate execution of any work or the doing of any act being any work or act authorised under this Act which is in the opinion of the Director‑General or Director‑General, Food Administration (as the case may be) necessary for public health or for the safety of the public.

The Director‑General or Director‑General, Food Administration may recover, from the owner or occupier of the premises in which any work or act mentioned in subsection (1) is executed, the costs and expenses reasonably incurred in the execution of the work or act.
