Composition of Town Council
(1)
A Town Council consists of —
the elected member or members ex officio; and
such other members appointed by the chairperson in accordance with subsections (2) and (3).
(2)
The chairperson must, within 30 days of assuming his or her office, appoint the members under subsection (1)(b) on the nomination of the elected members, each of whom (including the chairperson) may nominate such number of members as they may agree or, if they fail to agree, an equal number of members, of whom at least two‑thirds must be residents of any housing estate of the Board within the Town.
(3)
At least 6 individuals must be appointed under subsection (1)(b) as appointed members of a Town Council, but the maximum number that may be so appointed is the higher of the following:
10 for each Member of Parliament required to be returned at any parliamentary election for each constituency comprised in the Town of that Town Council;
