Composition of offences
(1)
The Controller may compound any offence under this Act by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence, or having abetted the commission of the offence, a sum not exceeding the lower of the following:
one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence;
a sum of $5,000.
(2)
For the purposes of this section, an officer or a member of a body corporate or an unincorporated association or a partner of a partnership who is liable for an offence that is compoundable under this section by virtue of section 20 shall be treated as having committed that offence.
(3)
On payment of the sum of money, no further proceedings are to be taken against that person in respect of the offence.
