Words “conviction” and “sentence” not to be used

The words “conviction” and “sentence” cease to be used in relation to children and young persons dealt with by a Youth Court.

Any reference in any written law to a person convicted, a conviction or a sentence is, in the case of a child or young person, construed as including a reference to a person found guilty of an offence, a finding of guilt or an order made upon such a finding, as the case may be.[41
